Development of New Port Sites

Besides, the identified 10 Greenfield port sites to be developed, GOG/GMB also identified new sites viz. Mahuva, Khambhat, Dahej, Sutrapada, Modhawa and Porbandar to develop as a deep draft ports. Government of Gujarat then initiated actions to select the port developers. For Dahej, Mahuva and Khambhat, pre-feasibility studies were carried out by GMB. Porbandar Port is suitable for providing container handling facility since it has infrastructure in terms of BG rail linkage and national highway connectivity. Besides, good potential sites at Sutrapada and Modhwa are identified for deep draft ports. GMB has completed the procedure of EOI, RFQ and RFP. The details of ports are as under:
