Decisions taken in the 29th Board meeting of GIDB that was held on 12/3/2007 :
  • Board has given directives to implement Mini Micro Power Generation projects in a time bound manner by Water Resources Dept. of the State.
  • Board decided to gear up the implementation of  Water Desliniation Plant project at Kutch .
  • Blue Print of Infrastructure Development ( BIG 2020 ) will be updated with reference to the Memorndum of Understading signed in Vibrant Gujarat Investment Summit 2007. An impact analysis on future infrastructure requirement , upgradation of existing infrastructure and required human resources will be undertaken by the Departments in consultation with GIDB and investors.
  • In-principle sanction was accorded for  development of Ahmedabad-Mumbai High Speed Passenger Train Corridor.   Urban Development Dept. to explore alternative to part fund the project after evaluating potential of investment in this corridor.  GIDB to play a nodal role and co-ordiante with the State Government and the Railway Board.
  • Board has approved State Policy/scheme  to support the infrastructure projects ( viability gap fund scheme ) take up on PPP format. Rs.46.00 crore is provided in the budget in the financial year 2007-08 to be released as Viability Gap Fund.  Industries and Mines Dept. is authorized to do the needful to  announce it as a State Scheme/Policy.
  • Board approved the Regulation for determining the cost of a project exceeding which a proposal shall be submitted to the Board.
  • Sub Concession agreement for the development of Solid Cargo Port Terminal at Dahej is recommended by the Board with amendments.
  • Board approved amendments in the concession agreement for Petronet LNG Port at Dahej.
  • Gujarat Maritime Board was directed by the Board  to create necessary infrastructure for  Ro-Ro ferry services project between Ghogha and Suvali ( Hazira ).  The ferry services will be offered to private operators by Gujarat Maritime Board.
  • Urban Development Dept. to make provision of Rs.165.50 crores for Ahmedabad Regional Rail System project. GIDB to play a nodal role to co-ordiante for approval of Ministry of Railways and its equity participation in the project.
  • Board approved the Model Concession Agreement for State Highways suggested by the Planning Commission, New Delhi .  Secretary, Road and Building Dept. directed to announce it as a Model Concession Agreement of the State for the PPP  State Highway projects.
  • Board approved the principles of Tolling Policy for the State Road Projects implemented in PPP format.
  • GIDB to set up a State Level  Resource Centre having huge data base on infrastructure  development in the State, to act as a focal point  for the information pertaining to policies and international best practices in  Public Private Partnership in infrastructure projects.

Decision taken in the 49th Executive Committee Meeting on 31/05/2007
  1. The State will explore possibility for setting up of Desalination Plant at Kutch with a capacity of 50/150 MLD.
  1. GIDB to undertake study for identification of strategic location for Logistic Parks along the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor and Dedicated Fright Corridor.  The possibility will be explored to find out exact location to set up logistic parks in following areas:

·        Palanpur-Mehsana

·        Ahmedabad- Surendranagar

·        Gandhidham-Samkhyali

·        Dahej-Bharch

·        Hazira-Surat  

  1. GIDB to initiate process of empanelment of consultant for project development.
  1. Equity contribution of Rs.10.00 crores approved for High Speed Passenger Train Corridor project between Ahmedabad and Mumbai.
  1. The decision is taken to  update Vision 2020 document keeping in view the MOUs singed during Vibrant Gujarat Events, 11th Five Year Plan and other important development which will have impact on infrastructure requirement of the State.
