- Independent Power Producer –Private (IPP-Private) plants at various locations using conventional fuel like; Coal and Gas with total installed capacity 8025.8 MW.
- Central Sector share for Gujarat State, from Nuclear/Gas based plants and Nuclear/Coal based plants total available capacity for Gujarat is 5904.54 MW.
- Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Limited (SSNNL) is Hydro based plant with the state share available is 232 MW.
- Installed Wind Power Capacity in Gujarat is 3932.73MW
- Apart from Conventional power generation, Gujarat has remarkable Renewable Energy sources which are Wind, Biomass, Solar and Mini Hydel based; with the total installed capacity of 5545.25 MW.
- The total Non Renewable and Renewable derated power generation capacity of Gujarat is 23973 MW as on October 2014.
Policy Enhancement in Non-Conventional Energy
Recently, The Government of Gujarat announced ‘Gujarat waste to energy policy 2016’ and ‘Gujarat Small Hydel Policy – 2016’ for power generation through solid waste and water resources.
Achievements in Last Two Years
Gujarat is the first state in India, who has completed rooftop solar project under solar city programme successfully.
- 5 MW Gandhinagar Grid connected Solar Rooftop Project
- 5 MW Vadodara Grid connected Solar Rooftop Project.
In addition to above, GPCL has installed 1MW Grid Connected rooftop Solar Project at Government buildings of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.
Upcoming Innovative Solar Project
Government of Gujarat and Government of Gujarat has given in principle approval to set up this project on waste land having area about 1407 HA located about 271 Kms from Ahmedabad in North West Direction.
