State Government is under the process of developing smart cities in Gujarat.The vision for developing smart cities is to make cities a better place to live in and to do business through accelerated, balanced, inclusive and sustainable growth driven by robust social, industrial and physical infrastructure.

The Smart Cities will have better facilities, better connectivity and better environment. Various models of Smart Cities are under exploration. How efficient use of technologies can result in local empowerment and better accountability, how affordable and quality health care services can be provided to the citizens, how sustainable transportation and traffic management can be achieved by efficient use of network and communication technologies, how efficient use of technologies and innovation can ensure safe and secure cities, how efficient use of geo-spatial information can lead to better management of infrastructure in smart cities.
